I’ve been converting sites to use the Gutenberg block editor and removing the classic editor.
Unfortunately there’s no way to automatically do it to all posts / pages at once but this could be a good thing as it does mean I can check each one as I do it. Fortunately, none of my sites are particularly massive!
It’s easy to do:
- Disable the classic editor plugin, or at least ensure you have the option ‘Allow User To Choose Editor’ switched on.
- Open up the post or page. This will add the existing content into a new ‘classic’ block.
- Select the classic block, and go to the ‘burger’ menu in its toolbar.
- From there select ‘Convert to blocks’ and bingo!
It really is that easy!
